20th May was a special day for Fr. Peter Kelly; he celebrated with his family the 60th anniversary of his ordination. Fr. Chris Wallbank represented the Missionaries of Africa and was able to join him at the parish of his sister, Theresa, in Epsom where Peter celebrated a thanksgiving Mass with Chris and the Parish Priest of Tunbridge Wells, where another of Peter’s sisters, Elizabeth, lives.
In his homily Peter spoke of times when he had particularly felt the hand of God in his life in Uganda and elsewhere, protecting him and directing him to new ventures which often became adventures! The music was provided by the parish choir accompanied by the youngest members of the congregation sitting in the front bench and taking it in turns to play the tambourine.
Afterwards there was a buffet lunch in the parish hall attended by some sixty family members and friends.
